Photo: We did not go to Sophia, the capitol, because we were on a cruise and there is no harbor there. Instead, we stopped here, in Nessebur. Open to all possibilities, we met a local restaurant owner who spoke excellent English. We invited him to lunch, and spent the afternoon learning about Bulgaria, its history and its culture.
